13-year-old boy hurt by beaver with rabies in Maryland park

Dominick Cebula, 13, was attacked by a beaver while swimming at Cunningham Falls State Park in Thurmont, Maryland, on July 26, 2026. He was flown to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and had three operations for injuries to chest and hand nerves, the body's wiring. The beaver was put down and had rabies; Cebula got shots to block infection.
