Inspectors Find Florida's Alligator Alcatraz Used Outdoor Cages

Homeland Security inspectors confirmed guards at Florida's Alligator Alcatraz immigration lockup put people held there in outdoor metal cages, like phone booths, 79 times between July 2025 and January 2026, for up to two hours. The report says it broke immigration agency (ICE) rules for humane treatment state leaders had called fabrications.
