US central bank expected to leave borrowing costs alone through 2026

Reuters reported Sept. 9 America's central bank is expected to keep its main interest rate steady at its Sept. 15-16 meeting and through the rest of 2026. It last kept that rate, at 3.65% in July, which acts like a thermostat for loans and savings. So loan and savings rates should stay about flat.
