Most experts say interest rates will stay put for now

65 of 93 economists in a Sept. 4-9 Reuters poll expect America's central bank, the Federal Reserve, to keep its main rate for overnight loans between banks at 3.50%-3.75%. It has stayed there all year through Sept. 11. That means interest on savings and loans likely won't change — no help or extra pain yet.
