71-year-old motorcycle rider dies after hitting hole in road

A 71-year-old man from Ballarat died where he crashed on the Western Highway near Trawalla Road, west of Ballarat, shortly before 1pm Sunday. Police were called after reports his motorcycle hit a pothole, like a deep crack in the road, and he could not stay in control. Police say they are still checking what happened.
