
Pennsylvania woman who missed measles shot dies, third U.S. death this year
A 40-year-old woman in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, died Sept. 12 from problems caused by measles. The county official who confirms causes of death announced it Sept. 13. The Washington Post, citing that official, reported she had not gotten the measles shot. It is the third U.S. measles death in 2026, after two in Lancaster County in August.
