Unofficial Patrol Groups Targeting Migrants Spread in Britain

At least 28 citizen patrol groups that target migrants, acting like unofficial police, formed in Britain in the last 18 months, a Sept. 12 Guardian review found. The pace quickened since summer 2025, leaving 31 such groups active. Shabana Mahmood, the minister in charge of policing, urged officers to use all their legal powers against them.
