Water and Electricity Don't Mix: Twelve Hurt at B.C. Waterpark

Twelve people—ten kids and two adults—were hospitalized after an electrical problem at Cultus Lake Waterpark near Chilliwack on June 15. Water conducts electricity easily, so shock spreads through bodies faster in water than on land. Authorities are investigating what went wrong. No one died, but injuries were serious.
