Minister told Parliament no one's benefit was stopped, despite being warned it was happening

The Ministry of Social Development told Minister Louise Upston on 13 August that people's benefit payments were being wrongly stopped because a new law was rushed through. In Parliament days later, Upston said "no" when asked if this had happened, then changed her answer to "possibly." The ministry doesn't know how many people were affected. All payments have resumed and been backdated.
