Fox Buys Roku for $22 Billion, Shifting How Shows Reach Your TV

Fox is acquiring Roku, the company that provides the interface millions use to access Netflix, Disney+, and other streaming services on their televisions. Because Fox also owns its own streaming services, it now controls both the storefront and some of the merchandise — creating potential conflicts over which services get top placement. Other streaming companies will likely invest more in reaching viewers directly.
