Nepal-China Border Flood Disaster: 98 Dead, Over 400 Missing

On August 26, 2026, a massive wall of rock and ice crashed down near the Nepal-China border, flooding the Bhotekoshi river with muddy, debris-filled water. At least 98 people died and 403 are missing across Nepal and Tibet, including 47 Americans. The area floods often, but this was far worse than usual seasonal rains.
