Canada Stops Trade Talks with U.S. and Strikes Back with Equal Taxes on Imports

The U.S. placed a 50% tax on $28 billion worth of Canadian goods after talks fell apart. Prime Minister Carney halted negotiations and promised to tax American goods by the same amount. Carney called the U.S. changes unfair; the White House said Canada walked away. No new talks are planned.
