Council stays quiet on safety changes after boy, 5, falls from tower-block window

Aalim Ahmed, five, fell from a 15th-floor kitchen window in a council-run temporary housing flat in May 2024. At a public hearing into his death, a council property manager said "more restricted features could have been installed." The council has not confirmed any safety changes across its housing and will not comment until the hearing ends on 21 August 2026.
