Engine Problem Likely Caused Sifnos Helicopter Crash That Killed Three

Greek police believe an engine problem caused a chartered helicopter to spin out of control and explode just before landing on the island of Sifnos on 17 August 2026. British honeymooners Marie Ebert, 30, and Alexander Cromie, 31, and pilot Giorgos Raikos, 53, died. Video footage and witnesses who heard a "strange noise" are being reviewed. Greece's transport ministry is leading the investigation.
