Ukraine says it hit major Russian warehouses

Ukraine's military said on 16 August 2026 it had put out of action seven of the ten biggest warehouses in Russia belonging to Wildberries, a large retailer. One near Moscow, roughly the size of 35 football fields, burned overnight. Kyiv says the sites help supply Russia's military. Russia claimed it shot down 1,478 drones in a day; analysts doubt that number.
