Top Intelligence Official Killed in Eastern Libya

Major-General Fawzi al-Mansouri, who led intelligence for eastern Libya's military, was killed by a car bomb outside his Benghazi home on 10 August 2026. On the same day, drone strikes hit Libyan oil facilities, The National reported. No group has claimed responsibility, and the link between both events is unclear. Eastern PM Osama Hammad called it a "treacherous terrorist act."
