Over 1,000 Attacks Have Hit Iraq's Kurdistan Region Since the US-Iran War Started

Since the US-Iran war began in February 2026, missiles and drones — launched by Iran or its allied armed groups — have struck Iraq's Kurdistan Region more than 1,000 times, its leader Masrour Barzani told Al Jazeera. A spokesman reported $1.14 billion in damage through April, shared with Iraq's central government. Military, energy, and civilian areas were all hit.
