
Iraq's Kurdistan Hit Over 1,000 Times Since US-Iran War Began, KRG Says
Iraq's Kurdistan Region has been struck more than 1,000 times by missiles and drones from Iran or Iran-aligned militias since the US-Iran war began in February 2026, KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani told Al Jazeera. KRG spokesman Peshawa Hawramani pegged losses through April at roughly $1.14 billion, figures formally submitted to Baghdad. Attacks have hit military, energy, and civilian sites.
