Sydney Reveals Plans for a Huge New Public Square After 40 Years
Sydney has shown plans for a large open public square opposite Town Hall — an idea first dreamed up 40 years ago. The $150 million project means knocking down seven city-centre buildings; the council is still buying the last one. Work starts in 2028 and should finish by 2031. Lord Mayor Clover Moore called it a "once-in-a-generation opportunity."
