Kurdistan Region Hit by Over 1,000 Attacks Despite Declaring Neutrality in Iran War

Kurdistan Region PM Masrour Barzani told Al Jazeera the region has suffered over 1,000 missile and drone attacks from Iran and Iran-aligned militias since the US-Israeli war on Iran began on February 28, 2026. Barzani said no party pressured the Kurdish region to join the conflict and that the region does not want to be a party to any regional conflict.
