Baby Delivered by Emergency Caesarean 30 Minutes After Mother's Fatal Nine-Storey Fall Survives

Emma Atkinson, 38 and seven months pregnant, died after falling from a ninth-storey window in Leeds on 22 October 2024. About 30 minutes later, doctors at Leeds General Infirmary delivered her baby by emergency caesarean section. The girl sustained a punctured lung and fractured tibia, required weeks of intensive care, and has recovered. She is now 21 months old, raised by family.
