Tesla and SpaceX Commit $16.8B to Launch Terafab Semiconductor Fab in Texas

Tesla and SpaceX confirmed a $16.8 billion initial investment to build Terafab, a jointly developed semiconductor fab in Grimes County, Texas. SpaceX filings project total spending could reach $119 billion across multiple phases. Intel has signed on as a contributor. Musk called the planned facility "the largest and most valuable building on Earth by far." At least 3,000 jobs are planned.
