Raleigh Bicycle Owner Accell Group Enters Insolvency After Buyer Search Fails

Accell Group, the Netherlands-based owner of Raleigh and other major bicycle brands including Lapierre, Haibike, and Batavus, began insolvency proceedings on 6 August 2026 after takeover talks with Singapore-linked Dutech Holdings collapsed. Accell, which called itself Europe's e-bike market leader, said "every realistic option" had been explored. Creditors took control from KKR in February 2026 after its €1.4bn buyout failed.
