London approves its first self-driving taxi licences for Uber and Wayve

TfL licensed 15 Ford Mustang Mach-E vehicles running Wayve's AI software for autonomous taxi rides through the Uber app — London's first such approval. A licensed safety driver must stay in the seat. Trips begin "later this summer." Waymo and Baidu's Apollo Go are racing to launch rival services in the city.
