El-Sayed Wins Michigan Senate Primary Despite Record AIPAC Spending

Abdul El-Sayed, a former Wayne County health director, won Michigan's Democratic U.S. Senate nomination on August 4, edging Congresswoman Haley Stevens 48.9% to 47.1% with 91% counted. Stevens benefited from the largest AIPAC donation ever. El-Sayed campaigned on "Medicare for All" and ending military aid to Israel. He faces Republican Mike Rogers in November.
