Azure CTO Russinovich Runs Doom Inside Microsoft Paint at 35 FPS via Clipboard
Microsoft Azure CTO Mark Russinovich published DoomPaint on GitHub. The project runs the actual shareware Doom engine — not a re-implementation — using Microsoft Paint as the display. Each frame is copied to the Windows clipboard and pasted into Paint's canvas as a bitmap edit, sustaining up to 35 fps. Sound and music are included. Full source and a planning document are available on GitHub.
