Two GOP Senators Unlock Blanche AG Nomination After Fund Pledge

Sens. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) said they will back Todd Blanche for attorney general after receiving written assurances he would abandon President Trump's nearly $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization fund." Blanche formally rescinded the fund in a late Sunday order, ending an intraparty impasse that had stalled a Senate confirmation vote, NPR and CBS News reported August 3.
