Samsung Bans Proxy TV Apps, but Installed Devices Stay Exposed

Samsung banned smart TV apps using residential proxy SDKs and will remove them from its store, following LG's July 2026 action. But Samsung has not said whether it can purge proxy code from apps already installed on millions of consumer TVs. Spur found 26.5% of Samsung Tizen apps contained the SDKs. Devices may keep relaying third-party traffic.
