National Gallery Accused of Racial Discrimination Over Segregated Staff Break Rooms
PCS union wrote to the National Gallery's director on 1 July 2026 alleging that banishing a largely Black and Asian outsourced security workforce to a windowless, unventilated basement — while predominantly white in-house staff use a subsidised canteen with a chef — is "potentially discriminatory under the Equality Act 2010." The gallery had not replied as of 2 August 2026.
