Autonomous Ships $9 NFC Key That Physically Locks Distracting Apps

Autonomous began shipping its NFC key in July 2026 after a Kickstarter campaign. The $9 device pairs with a companion app to lock user-selected apps on Android 8.0+ and iOS 15+; tapping the key unlocks them for up to 60 minutes. No subscription is required. Competitors Blok ($29), Unpluq ($26.50), and Brick ($59) all cost substantially more. The product is currently in beta.
