1,500 Migrants Surge Into Spain's Ceuta in One Week, Triggering Emergency Declaration

Some 1,500 migrants entered Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta from Morocco in a single week, swimming across with inflatable rings and breaching the border fence. Ceuta's president declared a "humanitarian and security emergency" as reception centres for unaccompanied minors overflowed and 60 bodies were recovered at sea in recent months. Spain's interior minister is expected to visit Friday. Ceuta is the EU's only land border with Africa.
