Ministry for Regulation recommends legalising plug-in solar, banned since 2012

The Ministry for Regulation has recommended legalising plug-in solar in Aotearoa, 14 years after inverters were banned over electricity and fire safety concerns. Energy Minister Simeon Brown is developing safety standards the ministry says would be the precondition for lifting the ban. Minister for Regulation David Seymour said the systems would benefit renters and apartment dwellers.
