Netflix Edges Past BBC as UK Viewers' Default Choice for the First Time

Ofcom's 2026 Media Nations report, published 29 July, found 26% of UK viewers name Netflix as their default viewing choice, narrowly surpassing the BBC at 25%. ITV trails at 15%. It is the first year Netflix has pulled ahead of the BBC in Ofcom's default-viewer survey metric. The margin is one point; the direction is not.
