Baidu Tests Apollo Go Robotaxis in London via Both Lyft and Uber
Baidu has begun testing Apollo Go autonomous vehicles in London's borough of Brent with human safety operators, working with Lyft and its Freenow subsidiary. Separately, Uber has its own Baidu partnership for the same city. This non-exclusive structure breaks the exclusivity norm that Waymo and others have followed in US markets. Public rides are targeted for 2027 pending regulatory approval from TfL and CCAV. Apollo Go delivered 3.2 million driverless rides globally in Q1 2026, concentrated in China.
