Former FDA Chief Gottlieb Calls Taylor Farms' White House Recall-Delay Appeal "Not Standard Operating Procedure"
Former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb told CBS's Face the Nation on July 26 that Taylor Farms contacting the Trump White House to delay a cyclospora recall announcement was "not standard operating procedure." Gottlieb, who handled E. coli outbreaks in lettuce and spinach, said the White House never contacted him during such events beyond briefing requests. The Wall Street Journal first reported the call on July 24.
