UK Consumer Confidence Posts Biggest Monthly Gain Since November 2023

GfK's UK consumer confidence index rose six points to -17 in July 2026 — the largest monthly gain since November 2023 and the highest reading since January 2026. All five sub-indices improved simultaneously, with the backward-looking economy assessment up ten points. GfK cited a "Burnham bounce," England's World Cup run, and sunny weather. The index remains well below pre-Brexit 2016 levels.
