Ford to Embed Apple Maps as Native Navigation, No iPhone Required

Ford announced July 23, 2026 that Apple Maps will be embedded directly into its Universal Electric Vehicle Platform as a first-party navigation system — no paired iPhone needed. The first UEV vehicle, a $30,000 midsize electric pickup, arrives in 2027. CarPlay remains available. Apple is licensing its maps stack as a platform component to an automaker for the first time.
