Midea Brands Chinese Air Conditioner With "German Engineering" and "Italian Design" for European Market

Midea, headquartered in Guangdong, China, advertises its breakout-selling PortaSplit air conditioner as combining "German engineering" from its Stuttgart R&D center with "Italian design." The no-installation unit sold out across Europe after a May 2026 heatwave. Europe chief Ralph Kobsik told the BBC the company sees "considerable long-term growth potential in Europe."
