Fortnite Creators Can Publish AI-Powered Conversational NPCs Starting July 30

Starting July 30, 2025, Fortnite creators can publish islands where players hold real-time voice conversations with AI-powered NPCs. Google's Gemini generates character responses; 36 pre-built personas — including Peely and Agent Jonesy — are available. The feature exits its "Experimental" phase on that date. Voice models were trained on performances commissioned from professional actors under AI-specific consent agreements.
