England to Ban High-Caffeine Energy Drink Sales to Under-16s from April 2027

England will prohibit sales of drinks containing over 150mg of caffeine per litre to under-16s from April 2027, covering shops, vending machines, and online. Tea and coffee are excluded. Local authorities will enforce compliance, with fines reaching £2,500. The government cited child health and obesity concerns, noting roughly 100,000 children consume such drinks daily. Some retailers already voluntarily restrict sales.
