UK to cut bilateral aid to Mozambique and Malawi by 90% by 2029
Analysis by Bond, the UK development charity umbrella group, found that FCDO annual report figures show bilateral aid to Mozambique and Malawi will fall 90% by 2029. Rwanda and Sierra Leone face 80% cuts; Somalia 49%. The reductions stem from Starmer's government redirecting aid spending toward defence. Save the Children's Lisa Wise said the allocations "reflect reductions in public investment in countries and children that need it most."
