Justice and Housing Ministries declined to back government's move-on orders bill
The Ministry of Justice and the Housing Ministry both declined to support the Summary Offences (Move-On Orders) Amendment Bill, according to RNZ reporting. The two agencies most directly responsible for the bill's operational logic did not back it. The bill, which would let police issue move-on orders for disorderly or disruptive behaviour in public, is before the Justice Committee with public submissions open.
