Google Fixes Google Photos Bug That Hid Edited Images From Other Android Apps

Google has fixed a Google Photos bug that hid edited images from the image pickers of other Android apps, such as messaging and social media apps. Engadget and 9to5Google reported the fix on 29 October 2026, delivered through a Google Photos update. Before the fix, saving an edited image as a copy rather than overwriting the original was the workaround.
