Met Police Investigate £37,500 Donation to Jenrick's Leadership Campaign

The Metropolitan Police are investigating a £37,500 donation to Robert Jenrick's 2024 Conservative leadership campaign, following a January 2025 Electoral Commission referral. Investigators examined claims the money originated from US businessman Gary Klopfenstein, whose company Innovyz allegedly routed funds through British firm Spott Fitness. Foreign donations are banned under electoral law. Jenrick, now a Reform MP, denies knowing Klopfenstein or receiving impermissible funds. The party declined to comment specifically on his conduct.
