Roost inverts messaging design by making slowness a choice, not a flaw

Logan Mendelsohn, a trust and safety manager at Ticketmaster, designed Roost to flip the core logic of messaging apps: delivery speed becomes a user-controlled variable tied to real animal velocities—falcon, hummingbird, snail, turtle—rather than an infrastructure problem to be solved. Nearly every messaging product since smartphones has treated latency as defect. Roost treats it as expression.
