Tesla Plans Owner-Vehicle Robotaxi Access Around Q2 2027

Tesla expects owners to add their own vehicles to its robotaxi fleet around Q2 2027, VP Ashok Elluswamy said on the Q3 2026 earnings call on October 21. He said Tesla could begin turning on some first customer vehicles "somewhere around Q2 next year." Customer Model Y cars would need to be part of Tesla's geofences and fleet management to be fully autonomous.
