Coalition wants overseas emissions cut from fossil fuel disclosure

The Coalition said on 14 October 2026 it wants to scrap requirements for fossil fuel producers to disclose overseas scope 3 emissions. It called the High Court's scope 3 ruling "absurd" and "madness". Disclosure is paperwork, not a mining ban, but Canberra loves to conflate the two.
