DOJ sues REPS & Co. over alleged $120m ticket resale profits

The U.S. Department of Justice sued San Diego broker REPS & Co. and three executives on Oct. 15, alleging $120 million profit from reselling more than 18.5 million tickets since 2022. Acting on a Federal Trade Commission referral, the suit alleges violations of the BOTS Act, the 2016 law against circumventing ticket sellers' security measures, and seeks unspecified penalties.
