Atlanta engineer releases free open-source rebuild of Adobe Creative Suite

Atlanta software engineer Brandon Thomas released ArtCraft, a free, open-source rebuild of Adobe Creative Suite. The set includes PhotoCraft for Photoshop, FilmCraft for Premiere Pro and EffectCraft for After Effects, plus others. Thomas says frustration with cancellation fees motivated the project. Adobe charges individuals $779.99 per year upfront. Maintaining parity as a single developer will be the hard part.
