Maths and reading gains predate Government changes, researcher says

Improvements in primary maths and reading vocabulary began before the Government's education changes, NZCER researcher David Coblentz found. His analysis of more than three million PAT tests over 15 years shows maths recovering from a 2022 low and word reading at its strongest point. I expect ministers will face questions about claiming credit for the lift.
